Saturday, June 21st at 10 AM – Summer Solstice Walk

Celebrate the season with our second annual Summer Solstice Urban Walk, co-hosted with Juan de Fuca Community Trails.

This short, guided walk follows a quiet trail from Journey Middle School to the Sooke Region Museum. Let us introduce you to a great alternative to navigating construction and parking challenges during this year's popular Thursday Night Market.

Meet at 10:00 AM on Saturday in the Journey Middle School parking lot (6522 Throup Road).
We’ll walk together through a peaceful green corridor, about 15 minutes one way. Once at the museum, you’re welcome to stay and explore or walk back with the group.

Whether you're new to Sooke or a longtime local, it's a fun way to discover a lesser-known walking route in town.
Please share this route with friends and family.

Sunday, June 22nd from 12 noon to 2 PM: Paws for Pride

Join Friends of Sooke Parks, the Sooke Library, and the District of Sooke for a joyful afternoon celebrating Pride Month — with pets, people, and plenty of fun.

The event kicks off with a pet parade at 12:00 PM, starting at the library (6671 Wadams Way) and heading down Townsend Road to John Phillips Memorial Park, where the festivities continue!

At the park, enjoy:

  • Backyard games for families (pets on leash, please)

  • Face painting by local youth volunteers

  • Treats for people and pups

  • Info booths from the District of Sooke and Friends of Sooke Parks

Bring your friends (two-legged or four), dress in your brightest colours, and celebrate community spirit with us.
